What a day
We were at Connyland yesterday to celebrate the birthday of a fellow Malaysian’s six-year old.
As usual, we took the train and what was supposed to be a straightforward journey lasting just one hour (and slightly more) turned into a near disaster that almost nearly cost the hubby his head.
Of course I can say that now in jest.
What really happened was we missed our bus connection after taking the train to Frauenfeld, thanks to the hubby who made a false judgement on where the bahnhof was.
Then we ended up taking the wrong bus, which was actually correct (Bus 829) except for that particular service, there wasn’t a direct shuttle to Connyland. We only found out once we arrived at the last stop and the driver told us that the shuttle to Connyland is limited to four times a day. Twice in the morning (which we missed of course) and twice in the afternoon. He said it usually takes four minutes to get there by bus and if we walked, it would probably take about 15-20 minutes.
Well to cut the story short, we decided to just ‘trek it’. The problem was the road leading to Connyland onwards was a main road with no proper pedestrian pavement on either side of the road. We had the stroller gedabak with us so you can imagine the ordeal.
Halfway through the journey, this nice man in an MPV stopped and told us we can take a short cut that would be a lot more safer than taking the main road. That short cut added another 20 mins to our journey on foot!
Thankfully we had some amazing views. We were also fortunate that the weather remained bright and cheery all day and I definitely had a good workout after weeks of non-exercise due to nausea.
We promised our hosts to meet up in Connyland at 11am, but thanks to missed connections, we only showed up close to 1.30pm. Moral of the story: next time jgn harap sgt the hubby jadi navigator. Ni nak print timetable pun malas. Pfftt.
Everything turned out well in the end. We made the 3pm deadline for the birthday celebration proper and Alesha had a blast riding a flying elephant, a real pony, a locomotive, a water train and even went hunting for dinasours in a cave. She also got to meet and salam with Lippi the Dolphin. What more can a kid ask for eh.
As for myself, I just need to be more calm and collected especially time-time pregnant ni.

Nice pics…glad you had a good time. Alesha’s gambar cute sgt…how much is the entrance fees…if you don’t mind..
entrance fees about CHF28 per adult. Kids (from 3) half price I think. my hubby bayar so tak ingat sgt..hehe
